Mulberry Hill Gal is an updated and reworked version of my very first song I ever wrote back in 1982. I would like to dedicate this song to the memory of my dear friend Mr. Danny Arseneau who passed away on June 17, 2000 at the age of 38 years due to a tragic accident in his home. Danny and I went to high school together in Chateauguay, Quebec and also attended Dawson College together for a while. Danny later joined the Canadian Armed Forces.
We would spend hours in our basements playing our guitars and "making noise" as our parents called it. We actually entered my song and played it at a music talent show held at Dawson College. It was very well received by the crowd of students and we actually won a prize for best original song. What a great audience and time. Hope you enjoy!
(Instrumental)
Verse I
Well, everything I want in this world.
Is a little country gal who rang my bell.
I picked her-up one night you know while driving my truck towards Mulberry Hill.
[Chorus]
Chorus
Well Mulberry Hill Gal where
have you gone?
I’ve been looking for you all over this land,
and I think I fell in love with you
ever since that night,
I set my eyes on you.

Verse II
This story lives on from a few nights ago.
We got a talking and decided to go.
To a bar just to loosen our souls,
and to have a drink of
her favorite sort.
[Repeat Chorus]
Verse III
Oh, such a feelings coming over me.
I don’t really know what it could be?
Perhaps it was a drink or two
of whiskey you know,
or from loving you?
[Repeat Chorus]
