skoolology@gmail.com Norm "SKOOL" Estes was born in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in the Detroit neighborhoods and attended Detroit Public Schools, influenced by the Motown sound as well as the sounds of rock, funk, jazz and dance. He moved to Los Angeles, California, attended and graduated from Crenshaw High School. After living in L.A. for some years, he moved back to his hometown in Detroit, and was fortunate enough to land a job at one of The Big 3 auto factories. However, he had always had a passion for music. He was inspired by legendary Detroit DJs such as Tiger Dan and The Electrifying Mojo. With that passion, Norman "Skool" Estes started making beats and mixing music in his "spare" time, experimenting with progressive, techno and house music. His talent and dedication eventually landed him as a DJ in Detroit doing clubs, parties, and cabarets. Known as "The Storm", he soon became a popular, very well sought after DJ in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs as well. After his many years of success as a popular DJ in "Motown", Norman "Skool" Estes saw a grand opportunity in "Southern hip hop" or "Dirty south rap" as we now call it. So with great optimism, he packed up and moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he currently resides. Since moving to the south, Norman "Skool" Estes has become a music producer, producing six different southern hip hop artists who have "spit" to the tracks of Skool’s "old school" and new school" beats. Although Skool has produced these up and coming mighty talents, he feels that they are doing well, but need to rise up on their game as far as their lyrics and positive attitude in today's music industry. One of Skool protégé’s that does flow in the positivity that he desire’s for all of his artists, is "CHO$EN". CHO$EN is more of the ladies man with his smooth heart and touching flows. His song, "Miss Green Eyes" was a hit, along with the video. http://youtu.be/Uc0ogx6m58U He also has a dirty south flow where he wants to see "peaceful" and "positive" ways in today's life. That is primarily what Norman "Skool" Estes is expecting from his artists. His heart and name as "SKOOL", decided to take his music and beats to the highest level, getting the professional artist to hear the flows that is coming from his heart. Skool is now looking to working with some known professional artist for his music, and with his back ground and dedication, we know that it’s coming very soon!
