At the bottom of the street tonight, he holds his hands to the flickering light,
Of an oil can fire that smokes and burns, he wonders how life took this turn.
How did things get beyond control, it happened fast yet it seemed so slow.

He felt he had nowhere to go,

He remembers as a boy, new wonderment and joy,
As into a man he grew, things didn’t seem so new.
How did life become so old, it happened fast yet it seemed so slow.
He felt he had nowhere to go, He asks is there nowhere to go?,


On the horizon of his Heart, shadows come and go.
Wings of fear, traces of doubt, not sure what this life’s about.
He wonders can he raise himself up, like he used to feel so long ago.
When he believed there was somewhere to go.

At the bottom of the street tonight, a flame leapt high it shone so bright,
He found that love can bring him up, he learned the universe is love.
It was always in his control, it happened fast but can seem so slow.
He knows he has somewhere to go, He learns there is somewhere to go.
Yeah, somewhere to go, Oh, somewhere to go.
