Early years... Kurt Brunus was born into a musical family in Los Angeles, California. While still quite young, his family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he was exposed to many different and varied types of music. His grandfather and grandmother were very active in the music community, leading to a gospel group of their own during the 1950s. Mr. Brunus’ mother and father were the leaders of a singing group performing in local clubs in the 1970s and his mother still performs locally, nationally and

internationally. His mother realized his talents in music and started to cultivate them. At the age of 4, she enrolled him in piano lessons. Having an interest in musical instruments of all kinds, Mr. Brunus later studied the violin. As his musical talents excelled, he taught himself to play the trumpet, guitar, clarinet, saxophone, cornet, and bass. Mr. Brunus displays musical genius on the keyboard/synthesizer/piano and trumpet, as well as proving himself to be an outstanding vocalist (lead and background), percussionist, actor, music producer, arranger, writer and studio engineer.

International exposure... Mr. Brunus has toured many countries, visiting many continents such as Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Australia and Asia. Mr. Brunus’ unique style and professionalism as an entertainer over the past twenty years has made him a special addition to any group--and a great headliner.

The Temptations, Aaron Neville, Ali Woodson, Larry Carlton, Wynton Marsalis, Beyonce, Alexander O’Neal, Roy Ayers, Tom Brown, Bobby Womac, West “Warmbody” Anderson, Kermit Ruffins, Tony Hall, Vas-ti Jackson, Mahogany Blue, Denis Edwards, Kyle Turner, George Benson, Walter “Wolfman” Johnson, Irma Thomas, G.C. Cameron & The Spinners, Re-Creation, Michael Ward, Cool Bone, Lillian Bouté, Tara Darnell, Donald Harrison, Nicholas Payton, and Regina Carter. He has opened for many artists including Gladys Knight, The O’Jays, Bobby Brown, Kenny G, Freddie Jackson, Chuck Mangione, Maze, Michael Henderson, Patti Labelle, and Cynthia Bland and many more.

Accolades and accomplishments... Kurt Brunus is a New Orleans award winning performer, producer, writer and arranger for many national and international artists. Mr. Brunus is the president of “KS Productions” and “Swamp Island Records” and music director for his band “Kurt Brunus Project”. Mr. Brunus has appeared in a number of national and international television shows, as well as performed for local and national news programs and telethons. Mr. Brunus has been featured in newspaper and magazine articles, including a full-page layout and interview in Brazil for Keyboard Magazine. Mr. Brunus was musical director for King Creoles Orchestra, Ali Woodson of the Temptations, G.C. Cameron of the Spinners and many others. He was also the Musical Director and Composer for the stage play “Mama I’m Sorry”. In addition to his extensive list of accomplishments, Mr. Brunus has recorded with many artists (local, national and international). He’s produced, arranged and co-written many CDs, including his latest, “Horny and Saxy” and soon to be released “Night Life” and “Funk D Standards”.
